Class Descriptions
Sculpt
A fun and challenging class created exclusively by me. A hybrid of basic dance technique and exercises focusing on sculpting, strengthening and elongating major muscle groups. Think of a dance warm-up infused with technique inspired calisthenics and you sum up the essence of this class. Upper body and floorwork targeting abs, hips and legs are included in this 75 minute class. 2-5lb arm and 1-2lb leg weights recommended. Bare feet please!
Tuesday 5:30pm & Saturday 9:30am
Summer Blast Sculpt
This is a ramped up version of Sculpt that is sure to get you ready for warmer weather and less clothing! Shoes optional, but I recommend a soft trainer with a flexible sole. Get ready to sweat! 2-5lb arm and 1-2lb leg weights recommended.
On Demand Only
Barre
Lotte Burke & ballet inspired strengthening and toning at the barre. Upper body light weight training and floorwork targeting abs and lower body incorporated. All levels are welcome to this 60 minute class. 2-5lb arm weights recommended. Note: At home Zoom classes substitute chair for barre.
Monday 9:30am
Ballerz
A unique workout that involves a 2-3lb medicine ball. Expect quick upper and lower body results as the ball provides the perfect amount of core focus and resistance. Floorwork (with ball) also included in this 60 minute class. Note: you can substitute weighted ball with volleyball or soccer ball.
Thursday 9:30am
Basic Training Reboot
Back by popular demand! Continuous lunges, squats, plies and upper body movement all done with 5lb weights. Grab your guy, as this is a great class for men to do as well. Note: Up to 8lbs recommended, athletic footwear (trainers) a must in this 60 minute class.
TBA
Stretch Sculpt
Coming Soon! In this class you will be guided through a combination of movements that will elongate and stretch major muscle groups of your body.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I’ve never danced before, can I still take one of your classes?
Sculpt is based on some ballet technique but very basic. Remember, it is a body sculpting class, so movement is repeated again and again. In no time, you will get stronger and master the basic techniques. Barre is a good beginner class as you have a barre/chair to assist with balance.
Ballerz & Basic Training are more athletic with very little dance technique.
What do I need to prepare for the class?
You can take Sculpt, Stretch Sculpt and Barre classes barefoot. Sometimes I wear a very soft trainer in Summer Blast Sculpt. Wear a good pair of workout sneakers for Ballerz and Basic Training. I will provide most of what you will need in the studio.
On Demand and/or Zoom classes will require basic equipment.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- a mat for floorwork. A yoga or exercise mat will do, or thick towel
-a small towel
- 2-3lb arm weights for all classes and I suggest an additional pair of 4-5lbs to challenge yourself; or double up on lighter weights. A 5lb pair for Basic Training is most effective but you can use a 4lb set. Up to 8lbs can be used.
- 1-2lb ankle weights are optional. I highly recommend them for floorwork as they are great for targeting areas like hips, booty and thighs.
- Ballerz Class requires a 2-3lb medicine ball. A volleyball or soccer ball will suffice until you can purchase one. They are available online.
I can’t make the live class - how do I watch the recording?
This is the beauty of On Demand classes. There will be classes posted online to choose from in each category that you can take at your convenience.
