Meet Rosalind
MY STYLE
My focus and passion has been to deliver the basic elements and feel of a dance class without intimidation. Combining the warm-up segment of a dance class, calisthenics and additional techniques, I endeavor to deliver the best possible workout with floorwork and a soulful vibe.
MY CLASSES
I offer various classes to meet each of your needs, rounding out the schedule and broadening the spectrum of interest. My signature Sculpt class integrates body awareness and movement with grace and strength. Summer Blast Sculpt is a ramped up, faster paced version of Sculpt. Ballerz (includes a weighted medicine ball) is challenging, playful and athletic. Barre is focused and methodical, with movement inspired by Lotte Burke & ballet. Note: At home Zoom Barre classes are done with a chair. Basic Training is old school “back to the gym” with 5-8lb weights. Sculpt Stretch is a slower class that elongates and stretches major muscle groups.
MY MOTIVATION
Music is the driving force behind all movement in my classes. This is the “Soul” aspect of Body’n Soul. Great music motivates and inspires all of us to move more freely. Early on I discovered a love and innate ability to string together combinations of movement to: tell a story, interpret a feeling or convey a point of view. My experience as a choreographer later paved the way to eventually teach fitness and approach it with creativity, passion and fun!
MY TRAINING
My training includes modern & African dance, ballet, tap and Lotte Burke Method. Next to choreography, I soon discovered teaching was my second passion after a stint working with a kids musical theater group. Consequently, I developed Sculpt and taught at studios all over Los Angeles. In 1994 I started Body’n Soul in Santa Monica. I currently teach via Zoom and hope to be back in the studio soon!
